It has been a little whilst since I posted anything, owing to the fact that I left EDS. Oops. There I let it out. The name of the company that makes a profession out of incompetence is open, as I no longer have to fear the wrath of being sacked.
Happily for readers (that's you Alison) Toxic have been busy in my absence.
A quick update is in order:
Before I left, at the end of April I made sure to submit a letter documenting 9 grievances I had with the company and certain individuals.
When I handed in my notice to Dick (aka Flakey) by email on the Friday (May 27th) he rang me on the Monday and pretended to be sorry I was leaving. He then proceeded to demand a formal letter as proof, delivered to his him address in Birmingham. Odd, you may think.
Well, I knew what he was up to. He was stalling. He wanted 30 days notice to be stalled so that my start date would be before I left Toxic. When I asked repeatedly to leave early he robotically quoted "30 days is the notice period. You will stay for 30 days". When I asked again, he even had the gall to suggest that after "advice" from HR he could, in theory, decide my resignation was from the day the Royal Mail delivered the letter (which of course was that extra 2 days) making me stay until 2nd of May. The fact of me starting my new job on April 30th was tough luck.
The words barstard spring to mind.
Anyway, I started my new job on April 30th. The new company is great so far, but time will tell.
